Details: The decision to go to graduate school is a big one, and potential applicants typically have lots of questions. The most important in this case is, "Why should I get an MA in International Affairs?" But even if you've decided to apply for an MA, there are lots of additional questions: What's the right program for me? What's the right time to do it? Can I keep working? How do I get a good financial aid package? Does the location of the program matter? Can I do some or all of the program online? What do admissions committees look for? If you are asking these questions, this is the session for you!

The session will be led by Jim Goldgeier, Professor at American University, and Briana Suarez, the International Admissions and Operations Manager at the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA).

Jim previously taught at George Washington University, where he directed the Elliott School's MA in European and Eurasian Studies. As Dean at AU's School of International Service, he oversaw on-campus and online MA programs, and he served as president of APSIA.

Briana guides prospective APSIA students to find the right graduate school programs for their careers; works internally with member schools; and works with outside partners/employers on hiring qualified candidates across multiple sectors of international affairs and public policy. She holds a Master’s of Arts in Security Policy Studies from George Washington University's The Elliott School of International Affairs, with a specialization in Conflict/Conflict Resolution and Intelligence during her time there.
