Details: TSince the first science fiction novel was published in 1818 (Mary Shelley's Frankenstein), the genre has been defined by the intersection of the possibility of imagination and the reality of science. While sci-fi enthralls audiences and has inspired many to pursue STEM careers, it doesn't always provide an accurate reflection for today's latest innovations.
This week, a group of Giant Oak scientists and analysts will join a panel to discuss all things sci-fi: What books inspired them to pursue their careers? What does sci-fi get right about AI, and what does it get wrong? Does reading and watching sci-fi help to inspire innovation in the real world?"
