VIRTUAL: Applying to Competitive Graduate Fellowships with Leah Matchett

Location: Virtual Event - Zoom

Date: Thursday, June 18

Time: 2:00PM ET

Cost: Free

Type: Open, Zoom Meeting.

Details: Are you considering applying for a graduate degree but have sticker shock over the price? This session will discuss applying for competitive graduate fellowships like the Marshall, Rhodes, Knight-Hennessy, Fulbright, etc. With the caveat that there is a lot of randomness in the process, Leah Matchett did her master's degree at Oxford as a Marshall scholar, and is currently at Stanford working on her PhD as a Knight Hennessy Scholar.

“I've spent a lot of time applying for and helping friends apply for these programs, and I thought it would be nice to both encourage you all to apply and offer you some useful tips. The most important thing is that you don't count yourself out (I promise there is a less qualified white man applying). Whether you are in school looking to do a PhD or Masters, or out of school looking to come back, competitive fellowships are a great way to make this financially feasible. I have some general advice, and am happy to answer any questions.”
