How do violent societies happen, and where is the tipping point between relative stability and violent turmoil? What are the red flags along the way? "Violent Societies" is about how relatively stable societies become violent ones--and, ultimately, through understanding the patterns of the process, how a society can recover from violence and restabilize. This session exposes the patterns of a "violentizing" society, briefly explores a few example cases and their essential lessons, identifies key points in the process and opportunities for exit points, and ultimately, offers some short- and long-term solutions.
