Summer 2023: Public Affairs and Media Relations for National Security Professionals
#NatSecGirlSquad is launching a professional skills development micro-certificate focused on Media Relations and Public Communications. This micro-certificate aims to refine cohort members’ communication skills vis-a-vis the public, the press, and fellow experts. Throughout this program, students will attend seminars hosted by industry experts, share weekly written reflections on seminars, articles, or other related material, and complete a capstone project.
Goals and Objectives
Explore media relations and communications strategy in a range of organizational settings
Learn about planning, implementing, and managing media and new media programs
Develop messages and build conversation with target audiences
Identify and cultivate key media relationships
Analyze media interviews within the print, broadcast, audio and online outlets
Sharpen your critical thinking and communications skills, and enhance understanding of your organization
